13,000 households to benefit from CCT funds in Adamawa

YOLA—No fewer than 13,520 households in Adamawa State are expected to benefit from the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, programme this year.

Mr. Zhegun Joseph, CCT Head of Programme, told newsmen in Yola that the programme was in part fulfillment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign promises and was designed to support the less-privileged in the society.

He said: “The pilot scheme of the programme kicked-off in August 2017, with 8,653 beneficiaries in six local government areas of the state.”

Joseph added that areas that had benefitted from the programme in Adamawa are Madagali, Michika, Song, Girei, Numan and Lamurde.

He said  every benefi-tting household will get a monthly stipend of N5,000.
