Abuja – The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) on Thursday said it had invited 35 players and three officials to camp ahead of the 2018 African Nations Cup in Gabon.
Secretary-General of the federation, Mohammed Maigidansanma, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the camp would open on Sunday at Rowe Park, Lagos.
Maigidansanma said that the camp would be in phases, and that the first phase would end on Dec. 31.
He said that the invited players were currently the best in handball clubs in the country.
He gave the names of the invited players as Sallau Saidu, Muktar Ibrahim, Oladunjoye Babatunde, Michael Agbaji, Odey Samson, Iortyer Stephen, Okunuma Moses, Emeana Nneji.
Others are Ilouno Obiajulu, Akande Michael, Ahmed Ogedegbe, Shehu Aliyu, Aliyu Aminu, Mudashiru Abdulmajeed, Atabo Sunday, Adigwe Emeka, Adamu Chris and Adamu Aliyu.
Also on the list are Terngu Tyongun, Mbah Nkwachukwu, Andrew Ojo, Okubuike Ifenna, Agada Anthony, Samora Samuel, Owolabi Yaya, Gbawuan Augustine, Osamwonyi Matthew and Ali Ahmed,
Cole Tobi, Emmanuel Amadi, Jacub Kutau, Anih Obinna, Abdulahi Atabor, Ibitoye Babatope, Obinna Uwuagwu and Philip Kalu also made the list.
The invited officials, according to the secretary-general, are Michael Taangahar, Solomon Martin and Segun Tunji. (NAN)
