A political group, United Anambra Youth Assembly (U-AYA), on Wednesday 31th October 2018, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye, for his outstanding performance during the just concluded party primaries across the thirty-six states of Nigeria.
The President/General Overseer of the group, Hon Chinedu Obidigwe who made this move after a review of the state of the party and the leadership the National chairman is demonstrating, called on all party members, especially the aggrieved aspirants, friends and well-wishers to shed their sword and continue in their support for the National chairman to ensure total victory for the party 2019 general elections.
Obidigwe, who is the party flag bearer for Anambra east/west Federal Constituency for 2019 election said, “The entire organs, leadership and other stakeholders of the United Anambra Youths Assembly (U-AYA), on Monday been the 31th of October, 2018 at a symposium in Tourists Garden Hotel, Aguleri, Anambra state to mark the celebration of the U-AYA and Ebelechukwu Obiano Ladies Movement Day, unanimously passed a ‘Vote of Confidence’ on the party, the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, under the Chairmanship of Chief Victor Oye, for meeting up INEC deadline for parties primaries and the peaceful, fair and credible manner he conducting the process.”
He added that the Vote of Confidence took place after the group leadership reviewed the state of affairs of APGA in her just concluded primaries and the pragmatic and focused leadership that the party National Chairman is demonstrating.
“The event had the following stakeholders in attendance: members of the U-AYA, led by the National President, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, members of the Ebelechukwu Obiano Ladies Movement led by the National Coordinator Mrs Amara Nwadialor, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Health Hon. Kate Edozieh and other Party stakeholders.
The membership of the United Assembly is made up of seasoned politicians mostly youth, are charged with the responsibility to chart an effective way forward for the better 2019 general elections.
It could be recalled that since APGA, concluded it primaries across states of the federation the party has been in division were aggrieved aspirants that could not get the ticket of the party and some party stakeholders led by Sir Ben Obi (Igwe APGA), are accusing the National Working Committee of the party led by its National Chairman, Victor Oye, of been bias and trying to destabilise the peace and oneness of the party.
To this end, the group called on all Party members nationwide, supporters, friends of the Party, and the general public to continue supporting the NWC of the party in their concerted effort towards strengthening APGA to attain international best practices.
