2019 Election: Police collaborates with Stakeholders

The IG police, Ibrahim Idris, has scheduled a one-day seminar in preparation for the upcoming 2019 general elections.

The workshop slated to hold on August 30, 2018, at the Osun state capital, Osogbo is

aimed at creating a smooth and violent free election.

Speaking through his Principal Officer, ACP Bode Ojajuni in Lagos,  the IGP said that the event would involve major stakeholders in a collaboration with the Nigerian police to create peaceful election in Nigeria come 2019.

The seminar is meant to kick-start numerous security enlightenment programmes lined up to sensitize and enlist the support of key stakeholders towards securing 2019 general elections.

The theme of the event which will be declared open by the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo, is: ‘The Imperativeness of Police Collaboration with Essential Stakeholders: Towards Secured, Free and Credible Elections in Nigeria’.

Among dignitaries expected to grace the event are: , Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof Eyitope Ogunbodede, the chairman and moderator of the occasion, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Royal Father of the Day,   National Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, officials of all the political parties, sister security agencies, interest groups and opinion leaders.

Also, Foreign missions including the United States, Britain, African Union, European Union, local and foreign election observers are equally participating.
