The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may have rescheduled its primaries for the 2019 general election to start on Wednesday, September 26.
Daily Sun gathered that the ruling party will kick off the primaries with the presidential primary, next Wednesday while the governorship primary, which was earlier fixed for Monday, September 24, will now hold on Friday, September, 29.
The Senate primary, which was earlier fixed for September 20, will now hold on October 2, a day after Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day celebration.
Also, the House of Representatives primary is now scheduled for October 3 while the last primary is for aspirants for House of Assembly. The primary holds October 4.
A source in the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) told Daily Sun yesterday night that, although he was not competent to speak on the matter, “those are the new dates for our primaries. They have not been ratified; that is why I cannot speak officially on it for now.”
