A group, Women Arise for Good Governance, WAGG, has thrown its weight behind the House of Representative’s ambition of a female lawmaker, Hon. Kemisola Adesanya, in the 2019 general elections.
Adesanya, a second term lawmaker representing Akure South Constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, is seeking to represent Akure South/North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
The group, in a statement by its coordinator, Comrade Adebisi Oladimeji, said they decided to support the candidature of Adesanya in the election.
Oladimeji said: “Hon Kemisola is no doubt an upright politician with the interest of the people at heart. Based on her antecedents and contribution to youth and women empowerment, employment generation and skills development, and other landmark contributions to the development of Akure, we strongly believe that her emergence as a federal lawmaker in 2019 would bring better representation that will attract development and more dividends of democracy to Akure.”
