The governor stated this in a message at a presentation of 15 new operational vehicles to the state Internal Revenue Service, IRS, in Lafia.
Al-makura explained that as part of steps to meet the huge infrastructural deficits, the state government has put in place measures to improve its internally generated revenue instead of depending on allocation from the federal government.
He expressed happiness with the performance of the IRS, which he said necessitated the procurement of the vehicles to enhance its performance.
Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu, said more business outlets had been included for tax collection which has raised the monthly internally generated revenue base to about N1.3 billion in the last four months.
