All is set for the third edition of fashionista, the largest fashion show in Ajegunle, a suburb of Lagos state. The event which brings together established and upcoming designers within and outside the metropolis is centred on creativity.

The organisers

Speaking to pressmen at the pre-launch of fashionista, one of the organisers of the event, Obinna Williams Isiguzo CEO ISCO designers and collections, fashion event that aims to inspire youths in Ajegunle and ultimately, the Nigerian fashion industry. This is done through the convergence of potential investors, buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of Ajegunle designers in the fashion hub of Lagos, Nigeria

Explaining further, Williams Isiguzo said that “the third edition of Fashionista titled the fashion chronicle. We want to celebrate and talk about the history behind fashion at the same time Cisco designs and collections we be celebrating seven years of being in the fashion industry”.

According to Elvis Obiajulu a media practitioner/film producer, promoting creative talents in the fashion industry is our little way of encouraging youths in the community to be hardworking and shun vices. We want the world to hear about the event, we want sponsors and corporate organisations to see the beauty of the creativity in the hood. Fashionista is about individuals who are willing and ready to put up their creativity a platform to showcase their talents.

Giving an insight into what participants should expect, at the event, Christiana Anastasia, CEO Tiana events, said that apart from the fashion exhibitions, runway fashion shows and presentations, the event has different sessions. The fashion focus will feature workshops that facilitate knowledge transfer, information exchange and networking opportunities across boards. Also the business segment is designed to facilitate conversations with major players from the Ajegunle business school, where designers will have opportunity for exchanging ideas, networking and developing the Nigeria fashion industry.
