Adebanjo, who is also the Chairman of Aviation Logistics and Management Limited, became the Chairman of American Express Global Business Travel Nigeria following the acquisition of a controlling stake in the Nigerian unit of American Express by the ALML.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Operating Officer, American Express Global Business Travel Africa, Louis Van Zyl, said the company was proud to have Adebanjo on board as the chairman of its Nigerian unit following its partnership with ALML.

According to him, the corporate travel arm of American Express has been in Nigeria for over 12 years and is ready to take on new growth phase with the partnership with ALML.

The American company, according to Van Zyl, will leverage ALML’s over three decades of cognate industry experience in the global travel sector to break new grounds and expand its market share in Nigeria and other regions in Africa.

He said, “We are very proud of our new relationship with our new partner in Nigeria. We are looking at taking our company to the next level. We are looking at how to leave this position we are now and service our customers better; I think that our partnership with ALML puts us in a better position to be able to do that.

“It puts us in a position to expand into new scope of services and to position our clients for utmost services. We plan to look at the dynamics of the industry and use automation and technology to make us the premier services provider. We are looking at introducing some new online technology and position to be the best.”
