Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has approved two hectares of land for the building of a permanent site for the state’s command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The state commandant of the NSCDC, Akinwande Aboluwoye, disclosed this during the foundation laying ceremony at the site in Owu Dekudu village, along Siun-Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway.
The site is located directly opposite the Nigeria Police Force ICT College, a model college and President Muhammadu Buhari Estate.
Aboluwoye, who commended the governor for the gesture, said the command had been squatting for many years and managing fewer offices at its present location.
He said the new site when completed would have a storey building with about 50 rooms which would provide enough space for the personnel and armoury.
He said the presence of the command’s state headquarters along the Siun-Sagamu-Abeokuta would improve the security architecture of that axis.
At the event, the state governor, Amosun, said he was committed to the welfare of the security agencies in the state.
The governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Femi Kusimo, said the security agencies in the state were partners in progress, in providing adequate security for the residents.
