CALABAR- MR Simon Nkoro, a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing Ikom 11 State Constituency died on Sunday afternoon after a protracted illness.
His demise comes barely a month after the burial of Stephen Ukpekpen, the member representing Obudu State Constituency who slumped and died in May during an early morning jogging session at Ikotenim, the Assembly village.
Nkoro who was a two time member of the Assembly was a member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and served as Special Adviser to Senator Liyel Imoke during his first tenure between 2007 to 2011 before moving to the Assembly
Reacting to the death of the Assembly member, Senator Ben Ayade governor of the state in a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Christian Ita said he was shocked with the sudden death which is a painful loss o the state.
“Hon Nkoro’s demise leaves a sour taste in m mouth and ache in my heart but then we cannot question God. Him and only Him has prerogative over life.
He described Nkoro as a dedicated law maker, a consummate politician and a team player whose death is an immense loss to the people and government of the state
