New Barcelona man Arturo Vidal has claimed that he chose a move to the Nou Camp in order to ‘win every trophy’ that he can.
The 31-year-old arrived at the Catalan giants for a fee believed to be in the region of €20m – a fee far lower than the original €40m the Bavarians were said to be seeking when the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United were rumoured to be considering moves.
“The objective is to win everything, to have the highest standards,” Vidal told an interview with Barcelona club media.
“I have come here to win every trophy that we can and I am prepared to give my all on the pitch so that we can do this.
“I am so excited to arrive here, to have the opportunity to play alongside great players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets.
“What will I offer? A lot of spirit and fight, to bring something to the defence and the attack and to be a team-player.
“Now, I cannot wait to get started.”
