The Award Ceremony of the Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership organized by the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation has now formally kick- started at Harbour Point, Wilmot Road, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Right now, the Executive Secretary, Obafemi Awolowo Foundation, Dr. Tokunbo Awolowo Dosumu is delivering her welcome address before eminent Nigerians that are gathered at the event, including former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon; Obi of Onitsha, HRH Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe; Aare Afe Babalola and his wife; renown historian, Prof. Banji Akintoye; Dr. Kunle Olajide, president, Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE); Chief Kola Daisi, Dr. Christopher Kolade, former chairman of Cadbury Plc, Nigeria, among others.

The event is to celebrate a foremost Nigerian legal practitioner and educationist, Aare Are Babalola, who has won this year’s Obafemi Awolowo Prize Leadership Award.
