The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has described some aggrieved aspirants in the last Primaries of the party for State and National Assembly positions, calling for the cancellation of the primaries in the state, as confused and frustrated.
The party also insisted on ensuring that the party maintain its hold, as the ruling party in the state, during the 2019 general elections.
Some of the aggrieved members of the party, had recently approached the court, seeking the nullification of the primaries, after they accused the Governor of the State, Honorable Henry Seriake Dickson, of hijacking the process, and single-handedly selecting all candidates for the election, thereby necessitating their callfor the cancellation of the results of the primaries.
But the Bayelsa PDP, speaking through its Publicity Secretary , Osom Macbere, dismissed the allegations, saying that all party members were carried along before the date of the congress in the state was announced, and at no time did Governor Dickson, influence the process.
The party said that none of the aggrieved PDP members submitted petition to the PDP national appeal committee, which visited the state after the congress.
The party thereby urged the people of the State and the National leadership of the PDP, to regard the sponsored agitations of these aspirants, as it advised them to shun their desperation to disorganize the PDP, and join hands with the leadership of the party in the State, towards ensuring total victory for the party, come 2019.
