Motorists and pedestrians have been advised to be cautious when using the level crossings in the country.

There are fears that fatal accidents at level crossings might rise astronomically as government inaugurates new fast train services and intensifies efforts in rejuvenating the nation’s railway system with new projects.

This advice was given by the Nigeria Coordinator, International Level Crossing Awareness Day, Frank Kintum, as part of his contributions to the activities to mark this year’s International Level Crossing Awareness Day. The ILCAD is marked every year, and this year’s edition was held on June 7.

Kintum, who is also Managing Editor of TransportDay, said in a statement on Tuesday that handbills were distributed to motorists and pedestrians at the level crossing in Yaba, Lagos.
