A mass burial was also organised for the 73 bodies.

I just viewed some pictures from #BenueMourns and my eyes are flooded with tears and my heart burning with anger.
This Government is using sentiments to gamble with the lives of its citizens and it’s too bad! These Fulani Herdsmen are Terrorists and should be treated as such!

Tell @MBuhari that the murdered peoples of #Benue are receiving a state Burial.
Tell him that we remember all he has said and done while our people are murdered.
Tell him the hinterlands will not forget.#BenueMourns #BenueLivesMatter

The entire nation has been thrown into mourning simply because of our leadership crisis and political illiteracy of the voting populace. We MUST learn from this. Our Children must not wear these Chains of oppression. #BenueMourns pic.twitter.com/x1hNlqF57P

Five full trailers loaded with corpse, 73 dead people! Meanwhile, our president seats comfortably in Abuja. Our killer’s go live on news channels telling the world while they attacked and are still walking free.

It took @MBuhari just a few minutes to commiserate with the government & people of France after the last terrorist attack in Paris. Just imagine if same was the quick response the presidency gave to the people of Rivers & Benue on the January 1st killings.#BenueMourns pic.twitter.com/7Qff4mOZcl

Nigerians deserved a better president who will stand to say “Nigerians first” and not “Cows first”, we have just lost 73plus brothers and sisters, children born and unborn. Stand up Nigerians this barbaric must be put to a stop. #BenueMourns

The massacre of unarmed IPOB members in Umuahia coming after the mass slaughter of Shiites would’ve jolted Nigerians to Buhari’s genocidal agenda but Igbophobia made some people cheer. Now we are at #BenueMourns.
