The Senate, has adjoined sitting for Dino Melaye; summons the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, to appear by 11:00 am, tomorrow, being Thursday.
The Senators who ended the plenary after the summon, headed to the Hospital where Melaye is being held.
This is against the caution raised by Senator Gaya, that the leadership and Medical Doctors alone should be allowed to go.
The report has it that some of Senators who came to visit Dino Melaye were refused access by the Nigeria Police.
Armed security has been stationed in and around of the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital, Abuja, where the Senator is admitted.
Post-Nigeria recalls that Senator Dino Melaye has been handcuffed on his Hospital bed by the Nigeria Police, after he was re-arrested at Zankli Hospital, in Abuja.
Dino Melaye who was alleged to have jumped off a moving Police vehicle enroute Lokoja, was admitted at Zankli Hospital, when an ambulance brought him, and was wheeled on a stretcher into the emergency ward of the Hospital.
A few hours later, over 30 armed Policemen led by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, PFPRO, Jimoh Moshood, surrounded the premises of the Hospital to effect his arrest.
He was later moved to the National Hospital, where his medical condition has become critical.
An unconfirmed report suggests that the Doctor who treated him at the Zankli Hospital, has been arrested.
It was gathered that the Doctor claimed that the Senator sustained a spinal cord injury.
