Report reaching Post-Nigeria, on Thursday night, revealed that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has reportedly dumped President Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
A source close to the former President, alleged that Obasanjo has been secretly shopping for another trusted Northern candidate, who will be able to deliver the dividends of democracy.
Speaking exclusively to Post-Nigeria, the source stated: “From the look of things, Buhari has disappointed Obasanjo. I do not think Obasanjo will support Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.”
He added: “Obasanjo lately has not been speaking on the state of the nation, because of the failure of the APC-led government whom he helped in 2015 to enthrone. He has decided to endorse another Northern candidate for 2019.”
When asked to disclose the name of the candidate, the source disclosed: “It is not my duty to reveal the name of the candidate, Obasanjo will do that when the time comes.”
Post-Nigeria recalls that Obasanjo had ditched the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which brought him to power for eight years, and in 2014, he threw his weight behind Buhari and invariably the All Progressives Congress, APC, as against the PDP administration, led by former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
