House of Representatives on Tuesday plenary lifted the sanction of suspension imposed on Abdulmumin Jibrin in September 2016.
This is coming after Jibrin had spent over 180 legislative days outside the chambers.
It will be recalled that the lawmaker was suspended in connection with the 2016 budget which was reportedly “padded”.
The House had demanded an apology from Jibrin but he vowed never to do so. But the House stood its grounds on the matter.
Showing a letter of apology Abdulmumin Jibrin wrote to the House, Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara said that the suspended lower chamber parliamentarian had apologised for his wrongdoing, saying he was free to resume his legislative duties.
Dogara, however, left a caveat, saying “unless there are new developments”. Jubril who hailed from Kano State was until his suspension the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations.
