Civil Society Organisation, Centre for Social Justice, Equity, and Transparency (CESJET) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for what it described as his high sense of patriotism and sincerity of heart and purpose in leading the country.
This commendation was delivered in a letter addressed to the President and signed by its Executive Secretary Comrade Isaac Ikpa.
The centre said the commendation is on the heels of the president’s performance since his assumption of office. The centre particularly commended the president on his strides in the war against terror.
“We have followed with keen interest the ongoing war against terror in Nigeria since 2015 when you assumed leadership of our great nation, and we are compelled to state in unequivocal terms that you have not only done well, you have equally surpassed expectations in the war against terrorism for many reasons and chiefly amongst them is the quality of the Service Chiefs of the Armed Forces whose commitment and dedication has seen the tide turned against the Boko Haram insurgents and other militant groups in Nigeria”. It read in part.
The letter further outlined that one of the best decisions that the government has undertaken since 2015 was the quality of Service Chiefs pointing out the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff for their excellence.
Hailing the professionalism of the Armed forces, CESJET added that the current crop of service chiefs have been able to shield the officers and men of the armed forces from any form of political interference, while also acknowledging that they have also demonstrated their commitment to the rule of law, rules of engagement in warfare, and civil-military relations.
According to them because CESJET had transversed the length and breadth of north eastern Nigeria, and is also an organization conversant with the commendable inroads the Nigeria military has made in the war against terrorism, thus their commendation.
Meanwhile CESJET has declared that it has thrown its support behind the president in order to enable him continue his good works.
“On a final note, Mr. President, the clamour for another term in office for you is hinged on the successes you have recorded in the fight against terrorism in the country”. They said
