After many years of operating as independent dealers of Mitsubishi Motors in Nigeria, CFAO Motors and Kewalram Chanrai Group have established a joint venture to market the Japanese brand.

A company known as Massilia Motors Limited has therefore been announced as the result of the partnership.

The Managing Director, Massilia Motors, Mr. Thomas Pelletier, said the company would be the sole distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the country.

He spoke in Lagos at an event to launch the new company along with the Deputy Managing Director, Kewalram Chanrai Group, Mr. Victor Eburajolo; and the Deputy Managing Director, Massilia Motors Limited, Mr. Kunle Jaiyesimi.

Pelletier said the new arrangement would improve the after-sales service and other dealings of the Mitsubishi Motors’ representatives with its customers in Nigeria.

This is also expected to increase the sale of Mitsubishi brand of vehicles and its market share in the country, according to him.

“The Massilia advantage is that we do not only sell cars, we consider our customers as stakeholders and provide solutions tailored towards their needs. From counsel on the best product for each use to establishing a maintenance plan, we follow the customer through the product life cycle to ensure good value and a longer lifespan,” he said.

Eburajolo, in his contribution, said the companies’ vision was to become Nigeria’s leading automotive distributor with delivery of world-class customer service, adding that Massilia Motors would ensure effective talent management expected to result in motivated and customer-oriented employees.

He said a complete range of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles was now available with compact cars, sports utility vehicles and pick-up trucks with renowned models such as the Pajero or L200.

“Massilia Motors Limited will provide customers with Mitsubishi Motors passenger cars, SUVs, pick-ups, spare parts and after-sales services across Nigeria. The head office in Lagos is a major after-sales hub with a fully equipped workshop and qualified technicians,” he said.

Jaiyesimi said the Japanese car manufacturer had been known for the reliability and ruggedness of its products, adding that with Massilia Motors, the brand aimed to exceed its customers’ expectations, “thanks to skilled technicians trained according to the manufacturer’s requirements, the expansion of its authorised dealer network and provision of service centres nationwide.”
