Home-based Super Eagles captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa has praised hosts Benin Republic for their hospitality but insists the Nigerians’ main aim is to get a favourable result in today’s 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.

The Nigerian team, who arrived here in Cotonou on Friday, had their first feel of the Stade De Lamite (venue of the match) yesterday with Ezenwa fully involved in the goalkeepers’ drills with Alloy Agu and new interim goalkeeper trainer Ernesto Pionetti taking charge.

“Cotonou is a nice place,  it’s like we are at home because of the way we’ve been received. We really love the place.

“The most important thing is the game today because like I said, we have to come out to make our country proud.”

The winners between Nigeria and Benin Republic will qualify for the 2018 CHAN holding in Kenya.

“We are out here to make sure we make our country proud,” IfeanyiUbah goalkeeper Ezenwa told Completesportsnigeria. com.
