The Chairman, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter, Dr Bola Onigbogi, has urged members of the public to take insurance policies as part of their financial plans.

Onigbogi stated this during a maiden dinner of the chapter in Abuja to celebrate the achievements in the insurance industry.

She said the gathering would set the Abuja chapter on a new pedestal and create an avenue to enhance professionalism in the industry.

According to her, insurance is what one can easily fall back on when there is any issue that involves financial needs and is good for business, assets and human life.

“Insurance contributes positively to the economy of any country,” Onigbogi added.

The Deputy Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Sunday Thomas, commended the CIIN, Abuja Chapter, and described the dinner as a celebration of a profession that enables other professions to thrive.

While advising the members to be firm and steadfast in their dealings, he said whatever happened in the chapter would either  impact positively  or negatively on the entire  profession.

Thomas thanked the chapter for honouring the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Mohammed Kari, with an award and making him the grand patron of the chapter.

He assured the CIIN of the National Insurance Commission’s support towards moving the institute forward.

The Managing Director, Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, Mrs Folashade Joseph, urged the professionals to work as a team to project the image of the insurance industry.
