Cocoa Festival, the initiative of the Eti-Oni Development Group, made her debut on Thursday, February 22 at the 6th Chocoa Show in Amsterdam which came up between February 21 and 25.

According to a statement by the group, Eti-Oni Development Group stood alongside other cocoa producing countries, processing, trading, chocolate equipment manufacturing and quality standard companies to showcase and discuss strategies and share ideas for good cocoa and better chocolate for sustainability beyond production.

Eti-Oni Development Group also invited Osun State Government to the show and the government was represented by the Director General and ex Vice Chairman of Osun Produce Board, Dr Yemi Adegoke.

This is in continuation of Oba Dokun Thompson’s Cocoa Renaissance Project to properly define the Nigerian Cocoa industry.

“Nigeria made a good outing. The community group displayed cocoa beans from Gureje Farms, Eti-Oni chocolate brand by Duffy’s, Kalabari chocolate brand by Princess Odiakosa as well as natural artisan sugar rock from Kano, kolanuts, bitter kola, alligator pepper from Osun Produce Board and the Bronze cocoa which is handcrafted in Benin using the ancient techniques to create an art masterpiece that speaks of the history and value that is accorded to the Nigerian Cocoa Awards.

“Hundreds of visitors who are in the cocoa trade came through the stand to learn about the initiatives of EDG and post cards by Eti-Oni Tourism were given to visitors to the stand after their taste of the chocolates, cocoa beans, alligator pepper and the kolanuts which created quite an interesting stare,” the statement said.
