Delta APC elects Ogodo as state Chairman

ASABA—DELTA State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, Monday, elected Chief Cyril Ogodo as state chairman of the party.

Chairman of the congress committee, Eugene Odoh, said Chief Ogodo, who is the immediate Vice Chairman of the party, pooled a total of 731 votes to beat his only rival, Fred Obe, who got 99 votes out of 1439 votes, 10 of which were voided.

The congress which ought to have been held last Saturday, was postponed to, yesterday, by the National Working Committee, NWC of the party.
Speaking on the conduct of the exercise, leader of the party in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor said: “We have gone ahead to obey the NWC which postponed the congress for today (yesterday).

“At the end of this exercise, the appeal committee will review what was been done before the results would be taken to Abuja for certification.”
Speaking on efforts to reach out to aggrieved members of the party, he said: “After this congress, we would reach out to them and that is the role national is going to play.”

Also speaking, APC governorship aspirant in the state, Mr Victor Ochei said: “The organisation, voting and process has been fantastic and am impressed that everyone is here to witness what a real state congress is.”

On his part, House of Assembly hopeful for Ughelli North constituency II, Chief Jaro Egbo said: “What we have here is not a one man show as even one of the chairmanship contenders was on the other side.”
