Delta voted for more devt — Takeme

Delta State Commissioner, Ministry of Urban Renewal, Chief Julius Takeme says Deltans voted for more development by re-electing governor Ifeanyi Okowa for another term of four years.


Speaking with newsmen shortly after the declaration of the last Saturday’s governorship election in the state of which the governor who was the PDP candidate for the election gathered 925, 274 votes against the APC Great Ogboru’s 215,938 votes, Chief Takeme said the victory was expected and commended Deltans for their commitment to PDP.

He stated that Dr Okowa had shown great zeal and capacity in the development of the state since assumption of office as governor of Delta state, stating that his re-election will bring greater progress and development in Delta State.

Takeme who was the coordinator of PDP campaign organization, Burutu local government area felicitated with Ifeanyi Okowa for his re-election, stressing that it was a well-deserved victory.

The commissioner affirmed that Burutu local government area was a stronghold of PDP, hence the landslide victories recorded in the area in all the elections, stressing that the 49,722 votes for PDP in the governorship election was commendable.

Takeme congratulated all the winners in the elections for their victories and commended the people of Burutu local government area for their show of commitments in the general elections.

“This is PDP state. Deltans have again proven that they love peace and development. Voting APC could have been a great disaster. The people stood film for equity, justice, unity, progress and development. I congratulate Governor Okowa for his reelection and to the entire people of the state for voting for a stronger Delta. God took charge of the election and the people are rejoicing. I thank my people for standing behind Dr Okowa. We will witness more sustainable peace and development. I thank Deltans for reelecting Okowa. They voted for more development.” Takeme stated.

The Commissioner commended INEC for the credible and peaceful elections and the security agencies for their conducts.
