Chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko has showered encomiums on Star lager beer, official partners of the Nigeria Professional Football League for their consistency and commitment to the development of the local league.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, when Rivers United hosted Rangers in an NPFL match, where Star entertained thousand of football fans with fun competitions and refreshments, The premium fan experience also included a live performance by one of Nigeria’s finest artistes Reekado Banks.
Dikko said, “From the league season’s finale, in Enugu, last year it was obvious that Star came prepared and I’m not surprised with the premium fans’ experience at the stadium today.
“We are very pleased to see terms of the partnership come to fruition, as our efforts to restore the passion around local football are proving successful.”
An energetic match between Rivers United and Enugu Rangers saw the home team triumph over their visiting opponents by a lone goal.
It was the first time a music performance debuted at the Star fan park. Star Lager Beer has, since 2016, after its partnership announcement with the NPFL, continued to empower the Nigerian football community with sustained involvement of fans and their interest in the matches within the Nigerian league.
Speaking on plans by Star Lager Beer for the NPFL in 2017, Portfolio Manager, National Premium, Nigerian Breweries, Tokunbo Adodo, stated that, “This match in Port Harcourt was our first match support in 2017 and we intend to take the fun experience to consumers in different matches across Nigeria.”
