THE Youth stakeholders of Onicha Igboeze Town Union forum has called on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State chapter, not to rock the boat that is conveying their common interest.

The youths made the call in a statement signed by its National President Engr. Sylvester Ogbu and Mr Mattew Ogbonna, Secretary general, while aligning themselves totally with the position of the town union on the dire consequences the position will cause if Hon. Linus Abba Okorie’s position as Ohanivo representative is robbed come October 3rd party primaries.

The group who frowned that the Onicha Igboeze has often be marginalised, vowed never to go into a blind bargain, in the build up to the PDP National Assembly.

” our attention has been drawn to the communique issued by Onicha Igboeze through Onicha Town Union and we have noted the points/positions of the clan.

” we are alarmed by the wilder implication of such a political decision by any party/group/persons. The least now should be, not to rock the boat that is conveying us and our common interests.

“We wish to remind us that Onicha Local Government area has taken the lease slot in the National Assembly Representational chart as seen below; Afikpo North 4 tenures, Afikpo south 4 tenure, Ivo 3 tenures, Ohaozara 2 tenures and 1 term Governor and still counting, and Onicha, only 2 tenures.

” Recall that Onicha Igboeze has religiously voted the PDP since 1999 and en bloc. The clan is ever willing to continue but only in a reciprocal manner, as emphasised by the communique issued by Onicha Igboeze Town Union.

” it will be risky for any party, group, persons to take Onicha Igboeze for granted as we approach 2019 general elections.”

The group however, congratulated the governor Engr. David Umahi on his victory at the PDP Governorship primaries held on Saturday 30th september 2018 and also aligned themselves with the governor sentiment  that the South East will produce Vice President come PDP presidential primaries .

Meanwhile, the group stated that they will support and vote only the party, group, persons that is ready to reciprocate adequately with the minimal benchmark of what they already have and possibly add a premium as acknowledgement of a very well known large and bloc voting tradition.
