Nigeria remains the 47th best football playing nation in the world, FIFA’s May ranking established that.

The three-time African champions alongside other countries in the top 47 were motionless in a month characterised by quietness on the international football scene.

This meant that the Super Eagles remain as the sixth best team in Africa, with 635 points behind Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco and Egypt.

It was the same tale for the country’s opponents at the 2018 FIFA World Cup as they remained static. Croatia stayed impassive at 18th with 975 points.

World Cup debutants, Iceland was ranked 22nd with 930 points, while Argentina – a team Rohr’s men silenced 4-2 in a friendly match is the fifth best in the world with 1254 points.

The next ranking on June 7, 2018 – seven day to the commencement of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.

The Philippines moved up two places to accomplish their best position in the FIFA ranking (111), due to the Azkals’ positive results in recent months.
