Enyimba goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa believes the two-time African champions can get maximum points against Rayon Sports in their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final first leg tie at the Stade de Kigali on Sunday.

The seven-time Nigerian champions arrived in Kigali on Friday and trained at the stadium on Saturday.

Ezenwa told KT Sports upon Enyimba’s arrival on Friday that the team were in Kigali to get a win before the second leg in Aba.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper said, “We are in Kigali for business. We need a victory such that we can finish the job when they come to Aba for the return leg. We are missing our captain and striker Mfon Udoh due to various reasons but we are ready to do well without him and probably he will be available in the return leg. We are approaching this game as a final, so no mistakes will be accommodated.”

Other players who will miss the tie include midfielder Farouk Muhammad and goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, who are out due to injuries.

Meanwhile Rayon Sport president Paul Muvunyi told KweséESPN that they will shock the visitors in the clash.

“We have what it takes to get to the final. Our boys have realised that they are good enough to compete with Africa’s best. We can eliminate Nigeria’s Enyimba. Our players are young and well-motivated to do the job. We are determined to beat Enyimba here in Kigali by three goals and go to Nigeria for the return leg with a good strategy that will frustrate them,” Muvunyi said.

Rayon Sport became Rwanda’s first club to reach the knockout stages of a CAF competition when they defeated Young Africans of Tanzania to finish second in their group behind USM Alger.

Rayon will be without influential centre back Manzi Thierry, who is suspended after receiving two yellow cards, and midfielder Yannick Mukunzi, who’s serving a suspension for misconduct.
