YENAGOA—AMID calls in some quarters for the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, to terminate the oil surveillance contracts awarded to an indigenous outfit, Darlon Security Firm, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, a former lawmaker and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Mr. Ebipadei Fekoweimo, has condemned the move, describing same as “ill motivated and unnecessary.”
Fekoweimo said that motions being raised on the floor of the National and state Assemblies to stop and investigate an existing NAOC surveillance contract to Darlon Security Guards in Southern Ijaw council was politically motivated and not in the best interest of the people and the state, adding that security agencies were in the best position to probe and prosecute any organisation for breach of the law.
