According to Fasuba who celebrated the 12th anniversary of breaking the 9.85 seconds African 100m record, the aim of the group also having Nnamdi Anapusin, Fred Agbaje, Musa Audu, Erete Udy, Funsho Joseph, Sylvester Emeka Juwe, David Ejemeta and Chinedu Ike Patrick, was to promote the growth of the sport focusing on youth development and home-based athletes.

“Well this is primarily for the home based athletes,” said Fasuba

“ I believe their suffering is so much. I have called 9 athletes who have no political interest to partner with me to change the situation around.

Also, former national women 400m champion, Madojemu stated that it was about time all athletes came together and rescue the sport they loved and passionately devoted their time and energy.

“Enough is enough. We have to save our sports.

“We can all work together to bring back our sports we love from those politicians. Heartless people who have brought a lot of hardship to our young athletes.”
