The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and Julius Berger Plc. have concluded arrangements to commence the reconstruction of the moribund Berger Junction Park, Abuja.
Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Umar Shuaibu, disclosed this yesterday when he led members of the Ministerial Joint Taskforce, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Parks and Recreation, and the department of Development Control on a visit to the area.
Speaking to journalists, Shuaibu recalled that the area was given to Julius Berger in 2008 to build a recreation centre, but unlike the Millennium Park maintained by Salini Construction Company, the park was left to rot.
He regretted that the area has been taken over by hoodlums who peddle drugs and trouble passersby.
