Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the news that the detained 112 IPOB women have regained their freedom.
He took to his verified Twitter handle and wrote:
“I am delighted to hear that the 112 Igbo women that were detained in Owerri were released yesterday.
“I congratulate these beautiful, strong and courageous Amazons on gaining their freedom and I commend their lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, for his noble efforts. He led their legal team.”
The protesters were arrested Friday, August 17 during a peaceful protest to demand a date for Biafra referendum, as well as the whereabouts of the IPOB leader, who disappeared since September 14, 2017 after the raid of his Afaraukwu Umuahia country home by security operatives.
