ASABA—NIGER Deltans, under the aegis of Niger Deliberators, yesterday, urged the Federal Government to seek the help of former governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, in finding permanent solution to the problems of the Niger Delta region.
The group, in a statement by its coordinator, Mr Ken Okorodas, said: “Dr Uduaghan is one man whose constant engagement with militants on several occasions as Secretary to State Government and governor yielded great results.
“Most Niger Delta indigenes are clamouring for the former governor to help the Federal Government salvage the oil industry by assisting the government to engage the militants in a genuine dialogue to end the crisis in the region.”
Noting that the former governor understands the psychic of the youths of the Niger-Delta, they called on him “to still continue to serve the people through his wealth of experience by helping the current government to end pockets of crises in the Niger-Delta region and the nation in general.”
Okorodas called on the people Delta South senatorial district to send the immediate past governor of Delta State, Uduaghan to the Senate in 2019.
He said, “Uduaghan would give the needed representation to the people looking at his antecedents.”
