The rains which started at about 12:15pm, lasted for two hours during which flood covered major streets in the metropolis.

It was observed that the flood also took over the residential areas. Inhabitants of the area also were seen swimming through the flood to access their houses.
The story is not different in some areas which included MCC junction, Royce road, Amajeke and Old Okigwe road among others.
Some of the residents in the affected areas who spoke to Vanguard said the situation has not changed anytime it rains.
According to one them in the area who gave his name as Tochi Ibekwe, “we suffer a lot anytime it rains. We have to stay awake at night if is raining.”
