The family of the Late Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi, Tuesday announced burial arrangements for the late jurist.

kutigi died on Saturday night at a hospital in London after a protracted illness. He was aged 79.

The family said the body of the late jurist is scheduled to arrive Abuja from London in the morning on Wednesday, October 24 and will be buried the same day at the Gudu Cemetery Abuja, after Janazah prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja.

The Fidau prayers will simultaneously take place on Thursday at the late jurist residence in Asokoro Abuja, at the Etsu Nupe’s Palace in Bida and in Kutigi, Niger State.

The former CJN served as attorney general and commissioner for Justice in Niger State before he was appointed High Court judge.

He joined the Supreme Court in 1992 and was appointed as the CJN on January 30, 2007.

He served in that capacity until December 30, 2009.
