FRCN management board condoles with family of ex-IGP Coomassie

Katsina – The Board of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, has condoled with Katsina State Government over the demise of the former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie.

Coomassie died on Thursday in Katsina at the age of 76 after a protracted illness leaving behind one wife and six children.

The delegation was led by the Chairman, FRCN Governing Board, Alhaji Aliyu Hayatu and the Director-General, FRCN, Dr Mansur Liman.

Other members of the delegation included the FRCN Director Finance, Alhaji Buhari Iro, Zonal Director, Kaduna, Alhaji Buhari Auwalu and the General-Manager, Companion FM, Katsina, Malam Umar Tsiga.

The delegation paid condolence visit to the residence of the deceased where they described him as a patriotic Nigerian who contributed immensely to the development of security in the country.

They prayed to the Almighty Allah to forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest and give the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding, the younger brother to the deceased, Alhaji Dahiru Coomassie, thanked the delegation for the visit.

In a related development, the APC National Leader, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu also paid condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

Tinubu described late Ibrahim Coomassie as a patriotic citizen, saying that the death was a great loss to the country in general.

Coomassie was the second longest-serving Inspector-General of Police who served between 1993 and 1999. (NAN)
