Two Federal Road Safety Corps officers, brutalised by policemen in the convoy of the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly on Saturday, July 15 have been scheduled for surgery on Monday (today) to extract bullets from their bodies, PUNCH reports.

It was learnt that the FRSC authorities had been informed about the surgery.

Two policemen in the convoy of the speaker, Chikwendu Kalu, were said to have shot the FRSC officers, who stopped the vehicle in which the speaker’s wife was travelling, for not fastening their seat belts.

The policemen also allegedly vandalised the FRSC patrol vehicles and left the two men in the pool of their own blood. It was gathered that other road users drove them to the hospital.
