Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State,has advised Anambra State indigenes in Warri/ Effurun and environs to live in peace and harmony with their hosts. .
The governor’ s messages was contained in his keynote address delivered on his behalf by his Special Assistant on Anambra State Indigenes in Diaspora Matters, Nneka Nwankwo, during the Anambra Cultural Day (also known as Ogbako Ndi Anambra )celebration at the Urhobo College Sports field, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
While urging Anambra indigenes in the area to sustain the peace amongst themselves, Governor Obiano urged them to always contribute to the positive development of Anambra Sate. The Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Non Indigenes Affairs, Nze Francis Onuora, explained that the celebration was to mark the creation of Anambra State,saying that the state was created on August 27, 1991.” We are here to celebrate our dear state, our Governor and Ndi Igbo . My message to the Anambra State indigenes, is that, they should be focused and remain who we are – pace setters”
Onuora who is also the Vice Chairman of Ogbako Ndi Anambra in the area seized the opportunity to call on all Anambra people , Igbos and non indigenes of voting age to have their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to enable them exercise their civic responsibility of voting in 2019.
The chairman of Ogbako Ndi Anambra, Chief Peter Ezejelue at the close of the event expressed gratitude to God and all those who contributed to the huge success of the Anambra Cultural Day Celebration, advising Anambra indigenes in the area to always be good ambassadors of the state wherever they live.
