Govt provides electricity to four LGs in Yobe State

DAMATURU – The Yobe Rural Electrification Board, has completed the electrification of four local government areas in the state namely Tarmuwa, Bursari, Gaidam   and Yunusari.

The General Manager of the board , Engr. Mustapha Goniri ( FNSE ) disclosed this to Vanguard in his office in Damaturu on Wednesday. He explained that in fulfillment of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam’s campaign promises to the people of the state , the board was working vigorously to make sure all the 17 local government areas of the state were fully electrified.

The Rural Electrification Board , which is the oldest government agency in the state has also procured and installed more than 10 generators of different voltages to most of the general hospitals in the state , as well as Government House for efficient service delivery .

According to Engr. Mustapha, “rural electrification is one of the agenda of the present administration, hence the huge investment government made on the sector. Our objective is to lighten up all the 17 local government areas of the state, we have completed the electrification of four local governments, including the state capital, Damaturu”.
