Academic and non-academic staff unions of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OSCATECH), Igboora, on Thursday, suspended their four months old strike.

Chairman, Joint Action Committee of the state-owned institutions, Mr Babatunde Adeniyi, disclosed this to Nigerian Tribune, on Thursday evening.

He explained that decision to suspend the industrial strike was in giving heed to Thursday’s request by traditional rulers, political leaders, community leaders of Ibarapa Central Local Government for two weeks to meet with Governor Abiola Ajimobi over the lingering impasse.

“We had a meeting with traditional rulers and opinion leaders, political leaders in Ibarapa land invited us for a meeting and they requested for two weeks for them to intervene and meet with Governor.

We told them point-blank that we desired to meet with Governor Abiola Ajimobi himself and they requested for two weeks to met with the governor. So, we decided to heed this request and suspended the strike for only two weeks,” Adeniyi stated.
