The All Progressives Candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election, Kayode Fayemi, says he is running for the position based on his performance as governor of the state from 2010 to 2014. to serve the people of the state.

He on Tuesday during a mega rally organised by the APC in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

“I am running on my track record of serving of people in all of our communities and constituencies,” he said.

His comments come just four days to the gubernatorial polls in the state. Fayemi would be jostling with incumbent deputy governor of the state, Professor Kolapo Olusola, of the PDP who is being backed by Governor Ayodele Fayose.

At the rally, Fayemi accused Governor Fayose who denied him re-election in 2014, of failing to consolidate on his achievements for the people of the state in delivering on infrastructure.

“There is no single village, hamlet or town in Ekiti State in the last four years that has benefitted from the government. In my time as the governor of this state, there is no community that did not have at least four or five projects that we implemented.

“If we did not construct your roads, we built your hospital. If we did not build a hospital, we renovated your schools. If we did not renovate your schools, we built the palace of your Kabiyesi (traditional ruler). If we did not build the palace of your Kabiyesi, we fixed the drainage,” he said.
