Dufil Prima, makers of Indomie noodles, have announced the commencement of the search for the next hero in its ‘Independence Day Award for Heroes of Nigeria’ programme.

A statement on Wednesday indicated that the firm had commenced the process to fish out uncommon heroes, who had gone out of their way to do something extraordinary in spite of limitations and barriers.

It noted that it was a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative targeted at identifying, recognising and rewarding Nigerian children for their unique acts of bravery.

The statement read in part, “The search exercise will explore various locations in the country to gather true stories about heroic children, who are 15 years and below, who have at one time or the other performed exceptional acts of bravery and heroism.”

The Head, Marketing, Indomie, Mr Manpreet Singh, was quoted as saying, “Outstanding heroic acts of bravery from kids go unnoticed, often ignored and unrewarded. However, Indomie discovered this and has taken the lead to change the status quo by identifying and celebrating the unsung Nigerian children heroes for the last 10 years through the IIDA.

“Two search agencies have been engaged so as to cover more ground within eight weeks. This is also to generate more output in terms of quality of stories that both agencies will gather.”
