Olufemi Atoyebi, Ibadan
Shooting Stars midfielder, Fatai Badmus, will be available for selection against Gateway at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan on Wednesday after completing his recovery from a shoulder injury.
Badmus has been a revelation for the Ibadan side this season with impressive performances in the heart of the team. He was injured in the game against Akwa Starlets, which Shooting won 2-0 in Ibadan.
It was thought that the injury would keep him out of the game against Gateway but the media officer of the club, Jubril Arowolo, confirmed that Badmus had recovered.
He said, “We are happy to have him back in the squad. He has been an important member of the team since the beginning of the season. The coach could field him against Gateway but that is for him to decide.”
After five matches, with two games in hand, 3SC are third in Group B1 of the National League. They have amassed 10 points from three victories, a draw and a loss to J. Atete FC. The last away game against Abia Comets was postponed until June 13. Bendel Insurance lead the group with 11 points from seven matches followed by J. Atete with same points from same number of games.
Also available for the Wednesday tie against Gateway is the team’s highest goal scorer, Opeoluwa Olufemi. He has three goals in four matches played so far. Arowolo said the players were motivated for the encounter but reckoned that it would not be an easy game for them.
