A mild drama happened over the weekend at Bamaina, the hometown of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant and former Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, where the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzo Kalu took President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term campaign, declared that there won’t be any Presidential candidate he would support in 2019 ‎other than President

Dr. Oji Uzo Kalu was in Jigawa state for two days on a state visit where he paid a courtesy visit to the PDP presidential aspirant as parts of his nationwide tour sensitising Nigerians on the dire need to allow president Muhammadu Buhari to remain as the president come 2019.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after a brief closed-door meeting that lasted for about minutes, the former Abia state governor who described Sule Lamido as his friend, said “Although Alhaji Sule Lamido happens to be my bosom friend and an aspirant for Nigeria’s president‎ in PDP, I told him I won’t vote for him against president Muhammad Buhari.”

He said “president Buhari is my presidential candidate that I will support and vote for in 2019 because he is my party member and informed me about his ambition. My friend Lamido did not inform me.”

Kalu stated further that “Alhaji Sule Lamido is my good friend, the difference in political parties will never affect our relationship. As you can see, we ate, we drank together and we joked.

Dr. Oji Ozo Kalu was earlier at Dutse government house where he witnessed a traditional horse riding by the emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Sunusi when the emir paid the governor Sallah homage at the government house and later paid a courtesy call to the governor and presented a certificate from Kalu foundation to the governor to double his campaign on PMB’s second term.

During the courtesy call to the governor, Dr. Kalu blasted former president Olusegun Obasanjo over‎ the letter he wrote to Buhari advising him not to seek re-election again, said the former president lacks the moral right to decide who becomes what in Nigeria.

“People seem to have forgotten when former president Obasanjo was literally absent for about three years travelling all over the world‎ when he was president and then nobody told him not seek re-election,” he stated.

“He does‎ not have the moral right to decide for Nigerians who becomes president even though when he was president, no one wrote letters advising him against seeking for re-election.”

Kalu said Nigerians have the moral obligation to choose their leaders through the democratic process advising them to go ahead and vote for Buhari as president while also voting for Muhammed Badaru as Jigawa state governor.

He said voting for other people other than Buhari is giving an opening for the continued looting of the country’s treasury by ‘looters’ he stated.

The jigawa state Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru who expressed his excitement over the visit by the former Abia governor ‎said his choice to project the reason for the re-election of president Muhammadu Buhari is unprecedented.

Muhammed Badaru said although, president Muhammadu Buhari has constantly won elections in jigawa, however, there is further need to re-educate and re-energies them to see reasons on why they should give ‎Buhari another chance to run for president of the country,” he said.

Badaru who toured memory lane‎ on how the APC government met the already ‘battered’ economy by PDP said, “jigawa people are better informed and educated on how we met the state treasury and economy and that is why no one can disillusion them at this moment,” he said.
