Katsina: AUPCTRE honours Masari as most workers friendly Governor

The National Governing Council (NGC) of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) has honoured Katsina State Governor, Alh. Aminu Masari.

Masari was honoured with NGC Prestigious award as the most outstanding workers friendly Governor in Nigeria.

The award was presented to the Governor during the 22nd AUPCTRE NGC plenary session  in Katsina State on Thursday.

The President of AUPCTRE Benjamin Anthony, accompanied by two past Presidents of the union presented the award to the governor during the opening ceremony of the NGC meeting.

The governor was represented by the State Head of Civil Service Malam Idris Tunai, who received the award on his behalf.

Benjamin said that the Governor was honoured with the award because of his exemplary leadership and numerous workers friendly programmes and policies which had impacted positively on the lives of Katsina State workers.

He said that the union has analyses the performance of the Governor with regards to workers’ welfare and found him deserving for the award.

Also the Katsina State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Tanimu Saulawa in his fraternal message to the workers directed them to gang up and vote out state Governors known to have diverted all funds, including the bail outs.

Saulawa noted with displeasure that there were still some irresponsible state governors who still owed their workers between five to 10 months salary arrears as well as pensions.

He commended Katsina State for doing what is right and encouraged other state governors to emulate the state.

In his remark the Katsina State Governor said he was honoured to be with members of the NGC as the special Guest.

He  expressed his appreciation to the labour union for the harmonious working relationship with his administration

He reiterated that the state government doors will continue to remain open to the organized labour, Civil society and religious groups with a view to ensuring sustainable peace.
