Parents of  Leah Sharibu, student of Government Girls Science and Technology, Dapchi, Borno State, who was abducted on February 19, 2018, alongside 110 of her school mates, have begged President Muhammadu Buhari to keep his promise of bringing her back to them.

One month after the abduction, 105 of the girls were released, except Leah, because she refused to renounce her faith.

She is a Christian.

Yesterday, the local congregation in ECWA, Bishara No.1 Demsawo, where her parents worship, organised a prayer meeting for her release and to remind the Buhari-led government to keep to their promises; to secure Leah’s release and other abducted girls.

Leah’s mother, Rebecca tearfully reminded the president of his promise.

“They sent three ministers to my house promising that my daughter will be released and now, it is a year and my daughter is not home yet. Since she left, I and my family have been devastated and my heart is full of sorrow,” Rebecca said.

Senior Pastor of ECWA, Yola, Fidelis Saul, added: “Buhari’s government must display impartiality because they successfully secured the release of other girls but refused to secure Leah’s because of her faith.

“We organised this prayer meeting to ask for God’s protection and deliverance for Leah because we believe God can save her from the hands of the wicked.”

Also, her father, Nathaniel, said it is only through dreams that he interacts with his daughter.

He told Daily Sun: “They are just promising, promising, promising, promising, but, I see nothing on ground. I am even confused now. All the family is in confusion now.”
