Nigerians have expressed diverse views about the criticism with which the ex-Education Minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, greeted the Democracy Day speech presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the nation on Tuesday morning.
Specifically, Ezekwesili had wondered, via a tweet, whether there was no aide to verify the claims presented in the speech before handing it over to Mr. President.
The ex-minister had tweeted:
Was it that no one in .@AsoRock could do a #FactCheck before the Sign Off on @NGRPresident @MBuhari ‘s #DemocracyDay2018 Speech? Kai. It diminishes the office of the President to make factually incorrect claims. There are limits to Propaganda.
Next time, get an intern to check.— Oby Ezekwesili (@obyezeks) May 29, 2018
The tweet has since attracted reactions both in support of and against the minister.

What do you expect from people that claimed you performed badly while Keyamo did very well during the last TV show.

Oby, what is it again ?
You want another carton of indomie ?.— Mohammadu Buhari (@Mohamed26513134) May 29, 2018
You couldn’t dispute the facts yesterday when @fkeyamo was stating them yesterday. Its only on twitter that you can rant.

You are making comments on abstract allegations . What are the items to factcheck before response could have been made .

You may not agree with the president and his policies, which is normal. I have issues with PMB too. But lunching personal attacks on the president makes it abnormal. It even diminishes your hard earned personality. Except there is something else that requires the third eye to see.

The misinformation and lies are deliberate. Buhari and his handlers are talking to the unwashed and those who actually lack the capacity to verify these APC lies. And they are many, armed with their PVCs.

President @MBuhari can deliver such laughable and absurd falsehood called a speech, because we have a political authority that LACKS HUMILITY & INTEGRITY
A regime that has lost shame & character, cannot be salvaged. It is simply GAME OVER for this DECADENT political class.

I can’t agree with you less. We are in trouble in this country

After the coming general election, they will all be in shock because they will be surprise at how much we dislike their way of governance.

Please be specific and itemize the “factually incorrect claims”. I can’t understand why you tag the President incompetent and you end up demonstrating gross incompetency in your criticism. You have ” fayoselized” and “wikelized” opposition. You are taking things too personal.

Bot is a piece of software that executes commands. In this case, people paid to do a routine task of defending Buhari’s failures and insulting anyone that does not agree with their lies.
— Davey (@ArchieWonda) May 29, 2018
Madam,as far as now is concerned we will only tolerate their lies and propaganda but it won’t exceed 2019.
