Senator Rabui Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwakwasiyya political movement in Kano has dismissed as concocted lies, allegations against him piblished in some news media claiming that he had instructed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abba Kabir Yusuf not to pay the N30,000 minimum wage when he becomes the state governor, and that he should retrench workers.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Media Aide to Sen Rabiu Kwankwaso, Binya Spikin and made available to Vanguard Thursday night.
“It is disheartening that some media outlets carry reports with distorted information attributing it to Sen Rabiu Kwankwaso. These include a sponsored write-up in the Daily Times newspaper that says Sen Kwankwaso will retrench workers if Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf is elected governor and a badly written piece on Sahara Reporters, an online news medium, insinuating that Sen Kwankwaso has instructed Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf not to pay the thirty thousand naira minimum wage if elected” the statement reads.
The statement urged the general public to disregard the concocted false information which has no basis.
It further draws the attention of the public to the fact that Sen Kwankwaso is not an advocate of retrenchment, a fact that the Kano people can testify to, it added.
“We wish to draw the attention of the public to the fact that Sen Kwankwaso has never been and will never be an advocate of retrenchment, neither will Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf. The people of Kano can testify to the doggedness of Senator Kwankwaso when it comes to issues pertaining the well being of Kano people, civil servants or not, in or out of government and that will never change” the statement added.
He described the concocted stories as deliberate and mischievous machinations intended to deflect the people from the much awaited rerun election when they will take back their mandate and “set Kano along the track of developmental progress.”
“We wish to call on the public to disregard the concocted lies written solely to blackmail the person of Sen Kwankwaso who is not the gubernatorial candidate” the statement added.
Kwankwaso called on the people of Kano not to allow themselves to loose focus on the oncoming March 23 rerun elections when they will troop out to vote for the PDP.
